Local copper theft rules are proposed (The Union Democrat)
After the defeat of a California bill that aimed to curb the copper thefts that have plagued farms and construction sites across the state, a coalition has drafted a version for local governments.
Assemblyman Tom Berryhill, R-Modesto, the author of the original Assembly bill, joined forces with the California Farm Bureau and the California State Sheriff’s Association to draft an model ordinance for cities and counties to consider.
